the diplôme supérieur
The Institut Jaques-Dalcroze, Geneva, is the international centre of the Jaques-Dalcroze method and the only place where the diplôme supérieur (final postgraduate professional qualification) is awarded.
The Diplôme Supérieur authorises the holder to teach on professional Dalcroze Eurhythmics training courses; in particular, on courses leading to Bachelors and Masters degrees and to Licence and Diplôme Supérieur qualifications. Holders of the Diplôme Supérieur are entitled to teach students in institutions of higher education (conservatoriums, universities, music colleges) and on teacher training courses.
The training course lasts approximately 2 years.
Prerequisite for application: be in possession of a Master’s degree in musical pedagogy, orientation in “Jaques-Dalcroze Eurhythmics” (Haute Ecole de Musique, Geneva), or an equivalent title.
